Three Women#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Extraordinary A nonfiction literary masterpiece I cant remember the last time a book affected me as profoundly as Three Women. Elizabeth Gilbert The hottest book of the summer Groundbreaking Breathtaking Staggeringly intimate. Entertainment Weekly The most in-depth look at the female sex drive thats been published in decades. New York Three Women will be whispered about around pools from coast to coast. Town & Country Desire as weve never seen it before: a riveting true story about the sex lives of three real American women, based on nearly a decade of reporting. It thrills us and torments us. It controls our thoughts, destroys our lives, and its all we live for. Yet we almost never speak of it. And as a buried force in our lives, desire remains largely unexploreduntil now. Over the past eight years, journalist Lisa Taddeo has driven across the country six times to embed herself with ordinary women from different regions and backgrounds. The result, Three Women, is the deepest nonfiction portrait of desire ever written and one of the most anticipated books of the year. We begin in suburban Indiana with Lina, a homemaker and mother of two whose marriage, after a decade, has lost its passion. She passes her days cooking and cleaning for a man who refuses to kiss her on the mouth, protesting that the sensation offends him. To Linas horror, even her marriage counselor says her husbands position is valid. Starved for affection, Lina battles daily panic attacks. When she reconnects with an old flame through social media, she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming. In North Dakota we meet Maggie, a seventeen-year-old high school student who finds a confidant in her handsome, married English teacher. By Maggies account, supportive nightly texts and phone calls evolve into a clandestine physical relationship, with plans to skip school on her eighteenth birthday and make love all day; instead, he breaks up with her on the morning he turns thirty. A few years later, Maggie has no degree, no career, and no dreams to live for. When she learns that this man has been named North Dakotas Teacher of the Year, she steps forward with her storyand is met with disbelief by former schoolmates and the jury that hears her case. The trial will turn their quiet community upside down. Finally, in an exclusive enclave of the Northeast, we meet Sloanea gorgeous, successful, and refined restaurant ownerwho is happily married to a man who likes to watch her have sex with other men and women. He picks out partners for her alone or for a threesome, and she ensures that everyones needs are satisfied. For years, Sloane has been asking herself where her husbands desire ends and hers begins. One day, they invite a new man into their bedbut he brings a secret with him that will finally force Sloane to confront the uneven power dynamics that fuel their lifestyle. Based on years of immersive reporting, and told with astonishing frankness and immediacy, Three Women is a groundbreaking portrait of erotic longing in todays America, exposing the fragility, complexity, and inequality of female desire with unprecedented depth and emotional power. It is both a feat of journalism and a triumph of storytelling, brimming with nuance and empathy, that introduces us to three unforgettable womenand one remarkable writerwhose experiences remind us that we are not alone.
I met him in the kind of place where bad things happen. The kind of place where women fall to their knees, call men sir, and get lashed with a belt. Gage Stratford. Dark, damaged, cold-blooded and gorgeous, with secrets so deep you could drown. He touched me that night, made me feel things that excited and terrified me in equal measure. When I turned up at my internship the next day, I was shocked to find he was my new boss. My billionaire boss was the one who had made me feel like I couldnt help but fall to my knees and do whatever he commanded. He says he cant stay away from me. That he needs to make me his submissive, to take me over his desk, to punish me and make me his. But our horrific pasts have made us who we are, and to get close to him means to crack each other open and expose the very things weve worked so hard to bury. And when our secrets come out, not only our love but also our lives will be on the line — leaving us bound together forever, or destroyed and shattered beyond repair. Being together isnt an option. But staying apart is impossible . **
Little Women is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (18321888), which was originally published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869. Alcott wrote the books rapidly over several months at the request of her publisher. The novel follows the lives of four sistersMeg, Jo, Beth, and Amy Marchdetailing their passage from childhood to womanhood, and is loosely based on the author and her three sisters. Little Women was an immediate commercial and critical success, and readers demanded to know more about the characters. Alcott quickly completed a second volume (entitled Good Wives in the United Kingdom, although this name derived from the publisher and not from Alcott). It was also successful. The two volumes were issued in 1880 in a single work entitled Little Women. Alcott also wrote two sequels to her popular work, both of which also featured the March sisters: Little Men (1871) and Jo’s Boys (1886). Although Little Women was a novel for girls, it differed notably from the current writings for children, especially girls. The novel addressed three major themes: “domesticity, work, and true love, all of them interdependent and each necessary to the achievement of its heroine’s individual identity.”
**Three romantic rivals in one crowded house equals plenty of room for jealousy in this surprising and heartwarming story from *New York Times* bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand.** Laurel Thorpe, Belinda Rowe, and Scarlett Oliver share only two things; a love for the man they all married, Deacon Thorpe–a celebrity chef with an insatiable appetite for life–and a passionate dislike of one another. All three are remarkable, spirited women, but they couldn’t be more different. Laurel: Deacon’s high school sweetheart and an effortlessly beautiful social worker; Belinda: a high-maintenance Hollywood diva; and Scarlett: a sexy southern belle floating by on her family money and her fabulous looks. They’ve established a delicate understanding over the years–they avoid each other at all costs. But their fragile detente threatens to come crashing down after Deacon’s tragic death on his favorite place on earth: a ramshackle Nantucket summer cottage. Deacon’s final wish was for his makeshift family to assemble on his beloved Nantucket to say good-bye. Begrudgingly, Laurel, Belinda, and Scarlett gather on the island as once again, as in each of their marriages, they’re left to pick up Deacon’s mess. Now they’re trapped in the crowded cottage where they all made their own memories–a house that they now share in more ways than one–along with the children they raised with Deacon, and his best friend. Laurel, Belinda, and Scarlett each had an unbreakable bond with Deacon–and they all have secrets to hide. Before the weekend is over, there are enough accusations, lies, tears, and drama to turn even the best of friends–let alone three women who married the same man–into adversaries. As his unlikely family says good-bye to the man who brought them together–for better or worse–will they be able to put aside their differences long enough to raise a glass in Deacon’s honor? ** ### Review PRAISE FOR HERE’S TO US: “Beautiful people, dysfunctional families and Nantucket: That’s Hilderbrand territory, and it wouldn’t be summer without a visit…[ *Here’s to Us* is] just the thing for a day by the sea.” ? **Kim Hubbard** , ****People*** * “It must be summer: Hilderbrand is back with a new beach read.” ? **Jocelyn McClurg** , *** *USA Today* * * * “The must read that will be in everyone’s beach bag this summer.” ? **Brenda Janowitz** , ***Popsugar*** “The queen of the summer beach read…keeps the title with another light-as-air Nantucket-centered tome.” ? **** New York Post* * * * “No one captures the flavor and experience of a summer place–the outdoor showers, the seafood, the sand in the floorboards–like Hilderbrand.” ? *** *Kirkus** ** “Hilderbrand is a master when it comes to writing the quintessential summer read and her offering this summer, *Here’s to Us* , is no exception.” ? **Laurie Higgins** , ***Wicked Local.com * * * “The book immediately draws you in with its scenic descriptions of the island and the Page Six-worthy life of a famous rock star chef. Featuring Julia Kellys signature intricate, tender, and convincing ( *Publishers Weekly* ) **** prose,* The ** Whispers of War* is a moving and unforgettable tale of the power of friendship and womanhood in the midst of conflict. ** ### Review **Praise for *The Whispers of War** * “Julia Kellys story about the bonds of female friendship threatened by senseless government policies is timeless and moving, and her trio of heroines had my heart from the start. A gripping tale by a writer at the top of her game.” (Fiona Davis, nationally bestselling author of The Chelsea Girls ) “A story of exquisite tenderness, *The Whispers of War* beautifully captures just how precious female friendship can be, and shines a light onto an important but less well-known aspect of war. Add to that rich historical detail and a cast of engaging characters and you have a must-read for all historical fiction fans. (Natasha Lester, USA Today bestselling author of The Paris Seamstress ) ” *The Whispers of War* is a beautifully told story, and a timely reminder that history works in chillingly familiar patterns. Julia Kelly writes gripping, moving historic fiction thats not to be missed.” (Kelly Rimmer, USA Today bestselling author of The Things We Cannot Say ) “This book was refreshing in a sea of much WWII fiction. At its heart, it is the story of friendship. In this case, three women who became each other’s family and whose devotion is tested in a world changing through war and new roles for women. Heartwarming and compelling, it lifts the reader to a place of beauty and joy even as the shadows of impending war threaten to shatter life as they know it. New love, family secrets, and national loyalties shape the friendships. Though WWII fiction is a regular genre of mine, I felt that *The Whispers of War* elevated the human story of it in ways that felt brand new. And – as I always love to learn through historical fiction – I was pleased (and horrified) to learn about the extensiveness of internments and the darkness that fear and propaganda can harbor. Kelly touched on themes that are found throughout history, giving it a human face.” (Camille Di Maio, bestselling author of The Beautiful Strangers ) “Kelly skillfully balances narratives from all three friends’ perspectives Women’s friendship overcomes the villainy of war in this engaging historical fiction.” (Kirkus Reviews) “Kellys latest outing movingly depicts the importance of female friendship in wartime… Rich with historical detail and anchored by an utterly convincing friendship at its heart, this should find a wide audience among historical-fiction fans, book clubs, and readers who enjoy stories of the important roles women play in one anothers lives. (Booklist) **Praise for *The Light Over London** * “Sweeping, stirring, and heartrending in all the best ways, this tale of one of WWII’s courageous, colorful, and enigmatic Gunner Girls will take your breath away.” (Kristin Harmel, International bestselling author of The Room on Rue Amelie and The Sweetness of Forgetting ) Deftly weaving together past and present, Kelly tells a fresh, heartfelt story of sisterhood and sacrifice, culminating in a gut-punch finish. Perfect for fans of *The Alice Network*. (Michelle Gable, New York Times bestselling author of A Paris Apartment ) ” *The Light over London* is a poignant reminder that there is no limit to what women can do. A nostalgic, engrossing read.” (–Julia London, New York Times bestselling author of Seduced by a Scot ) “Kelly weaves an intricate, tender, and convincing tale of war and romance with skill and suspense.” (–Publishers Weekly) Kelly deftly balances intrigue with mystery and historical detail in her latest novel A charming imagining of the historical gunner girls. (Kirkus Reviews) Kelly has crafted two convincing, conflicted heroines in Cara and Louise, and the resolution of Louises romance is satisfyingly empowering. Hand this to fans of Jennifer Egans *Manhattan Beach* (2017) and other tales of the vital roles played by women in wartime. (–Booklist) “Readers who adore a richly detailed period piece will be immediately drawn in by the world of *The Light Over London*. Julia Kelly has delivered her most elegant effort yet: a deeply rewarding and moving novel.” (–Apple Best of the Month) A sweeping and beautifully written novel an epic saga of love and friendship. (–Women’s World) “Historical fiction fans won’t be able to wait to get their hands on Julia Kelly’s *The Light Over London*….fans should bookmark [it.]” (–Popsugar) “Kelly doesnt disappoint usand readers will be engrossed in Louises story of love and war juxtaposed with Caras present discoveries…We root for both Louise and Cara, understanding their fears, hopes and chances.” (–BookTrib) A heartbreaking romance that will grip you from the very beginning. Julia Kelly weaves a tender romantic story around a girl who fights war showing how strong even tender, romantic women can be. With a bit of mystery in the story, even mystery-readers will like it. Who were you before the world told you who to be?
Part inspiration, part memoir, Untamed explores the joy and peace we discover when we stop striving to meet the expectations of the world, and instead dare to listen to and trust in the voice deep inside us. From the beloved New York Times bestselling author, speaker and activist Glennon Doyle.
For many years, Glennon Doyle denied her discontent. Then, while speaking at a conference, she looked at a woman across the room and fell instantly in love. Three words flooded her mind: There. She. Is. At first, Glennon assumed these words came to her from on high but soon she realised they had come to her from within. This was the voice she had buried beneath decades of numbing addictions and social conditioning. Glennon decided to let go of the worlds expectations of her and reclaim her true untamed self.
Soulful and uproarious, forceful and tender, Untamed is both an intimate memoir and a galvanising wake-up call. It is the story of how one woman learned that a responsible mother is not one who slowly dies for her children, but one who shows them how to fully live. It is also the story of how each of us can begin to trust ourselves enough to set boundaries, make peace with our bodies, honour our anger and heartbreak, and unleash our truest, wildest instincts.
Untamed shows us how to be brave. And, as Glennon insists, ‘The braver we are, the luckier we get.’

Oh yeah, and were about to be attacked by the largest demon horde in the history of the universe. All in a days work. This is the continuation of my story. **Three beautiful agents for the Crown. Three prime suspects. One sinister plot to destroy a fledgling kingdom… Meet the Queen’s Angels!**

But that’s what happens when Queen Elizabeth is entertaining the Fraser delegation. Luckily, her lady Courtney is deadly with a bow, and recognizes the assassin. Court’s history with the band of thieves and murderers who raised her means she has a very different skill set than most women in the queen’s retinue, and she’s not afraid to employ it. But she is used to working alone, and the idea of being saddled with an unwanted partner–particularly when that man is gorgeous, dangerous, and a prime suspect–is galling. Ross Fraser, the queen’s longtime bodyguard, can’t believe one of his kinsmen could be involved in this treacherous plot. He’ll do everything in his power to prove his clan is innocent of treason, even if it means partnering with a testy and deadly thief-turned-spy… One who holds his heart after that single night they spent together years ago. Ross must choose between his loyalty to his laird and his loyalty to his heart, as Court’s reuniting with her “family” makes her question everything she thought she understood. When metal hits meat, can this unlikely duo learn to trust each other, or will the plot to bring down the Scottish monarchy succeed? *Warning: Contains a [email protected] heroine, an adorable sheepdog with more hair than sense, and some super-steamy scenes.* **
