Summary

Nine out of ten dentists agree, Mazey Eddings’s rom-com A Brush with Love makes your smile brighter!**not scientifically provenHarper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable. A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn’t have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper’s rules. So with the greatest of intentions and the poorest of follow-throughs, the two set out to be “just friends.” But as they get to know each other better, Harper fears that trading fillings for feelings may make her lose control and can’t risk her carefully ordered life coming undone, no matter how drool-worthy Dan is.Blood, gore, and extra-long roots? No problem. The idea of falling in love? Torture.
This was a cute and fun light read. I sped through it! It wasn’t my favorite, and I thought it fell short of it’s potential. It was very slow burn and nothing against slow burn, but this just didn’t do it for me because the payoff wasn’t worth it. It felt forced and they lacked real chemistry. And I know it was about these two being in dental school but wow, did they lay on the dentistry stuff THICK, but it just wasn’t something that made me care more about the characters. It was very clear that Dan was way more into Harper like the entire time and what she did was cruel and uncalled for, despite it all working out in the end. Dan said Chris Evans shouldn’t have been cast as Captain America?! Give me a break. I did like the anxiety representation in this though!
I read about a dozen pages before I returned it. Life is too short to finish books one doesn’t enjoy. I stopped around where the heroine falls and meets (presumably) the hero.I found the book to be a tedious read, with stilted prose. The style was supposed to be cute and irreverent, but it only made me irritated. IMHO, the book needed more editing for readability and flow.
I really liked the premise of this one and it started going around IG, so was a bit afraid of the hype.I liked Harper and Dan well enough. She’s struggling with crippling anxiety, he’s struggling with family demands that he doesn’t want. Together they have a sweet friendship that morphs into more. The friend group did feel clichéd and I wish they would have been utilized a bit more.Plot wise, I don’t know. There’s a lot a lot a lot of push and pull on Harper’s part. I think I liked the story more before they actually got together. There was banter and charm, but once they’re together, the conflict starts and they both say pretty mean things. The resolution is quick with time passing and the epilogue is cute.Overall, I enjoyed this story and how Harper’s anxiety was portrayed, but also feel like I could have left it unfinished.**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**
I have followed this author on Instagram for a long time, she is so funny and I love the way that she raves about all the books that she loves. So as soon as I heard about this book I knew that I had to read it and I just knew that I was going to love it. And I was not wrong. I absolutely love Dental Dan and Harper. As someone who is in the dental field I loved the setting of this book. I love that Harper was so passionate about becoming a dentist, and helping Dan. Even though this book is super cute, and has some really funny moments, it was also heavy. I feel like these things were handled with care. I adored Dan as a hero. Seriously I loved everything about him. Harper wont go down as my favorite heroine ever but I did like her. As far as their relationship I loved it! They had such cute banter and I feel like they balanced each other out. This book hit all of the things I love about romance. It was sweet, swoony and steamy. I can’t wait to read Lizzie’s book ( then eventually the rest of Harpers fun friend group).

Anxiety prone Harper, is finishing dental school and hoping for an oral surgery residency. Rushing to class one day she runs into first year student, Dan, and destroys his dental mold. She agrees to help him fix it since she broken it, starting a beautiful friendship. When Harper starts catching feelings, she has to decide if her future is worth it.A Brush With Love is a sweet, cute, feel good romantic comedy. Harper and Dan have great chemistry. The unpredictable story is nicely paced and kept my interest. Great summer beach read!
