Boldly By Elise Faber
Book/Novel Author: Elise Faber
Book/Novel Title: Boldly
One second, he had everything. The next, it was torn away.Oliver James was at the peak of his career, captain of the Baltimore Breakers, minutes away from winning another Cup. Then one hit had derailed all that. All he’d ever known was hockey, and he didn’t know where he fit in a world where playing was no longer a possibility. But then he was offered a chance to bring hockey back into his life. A shot at starting over. The only condition of that second chance was required meetings with the team psychologist, Hazel. She was exactly the kind of woman he might have once lusted after—beautiful, kind, a body that screamed sex. She made him feel whole, like a man again.Except, she wasn’t interested in him outside of being a patient.Well then, Oliver would just have to convince her otherwise.
Could put it down! I laughed, cried, and loved every minute. The characters are so real and believable, you becomeso involved in their story. I can’t wait until the next book comes out. I have already put my order in for as soon as its available I will get it!
Boldly is the second book in the Breakers Hockey series by Elise Faber.I have just recently discovered this author, but I have come to really enjoy her books. The characters touch your heart, are realistic, and have everyday difficulties. Her stories take you through a rollercoaster of emotions and leave you smiling at the end.We were introduced to the Breakers Team Captain, Oliver, in the previous book and got to learn a little bit about him then. This is Oliver’s book, and it starts with the tragic attack against him from a previous player on the team during the championship game. Not only did he lose his hockey career, but he lost part of his leg.He is offered a job to head the Player Development department for the team with the condition he takes mandatory sessions with Hazel, the team’s psychologist. He had felt an instant attraction to Hazel when he met her the previous year, but she was engaged to be married. Now she is no longer engaged, so he sees his chance to ask her out. Hazel Reid has been let down by men too many times in the past, so she is not looking for a relationship. But Oliver patiently wins her over and breaks through all her barriers.I have loved getting to know the Breakers team. They are like a huge family and so supportive and eager to help their teammate, Oliver. They might be fierce on the ice, but their hearts are made of gold.I liked Oliver in the first book and was so sad when he lost everything. He was such a great guy and so patient and caring with Hazel. It was nice to see his life come together and for him to get his HEA.I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Oliver James is a new book boyfriend.Learning to live life after a tragic accident, Oliver has an amazing outlook all things considered. For years his focus was on perfecting his hockey. Now it is focused on her.Hazel is tasked with helping Oliver transition into life after hockey, but Oliver has other plans. This story was very well written. I adore these characters. Both are vulnerable, and struggle with it in a very relatable fashion.Mistakes are not ignored. The love is felt in this book.Wonderful read.
I loved this book! This story is heartwarming, emotional and absolutely perfect. Hazel and Oliver were amazing together. They had passion, intense chemistry, and an undeniable connection. I really enjoyed this story and I love Elise Faber’s writing style. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
The second installment of the Breakers hockey is just as gripping of a read as the first! Boldly is Oliver and Hazel’s story. Oliver was a player in Broken, but—like Luc from book 1—experiences a career ending and life-changing injury shortly after the events of book one.Of course, with the Breakers family being so close-knit, Luc is more than willing to transition Oliver to another aspect of the team, provided that he work with Hazel, the team psychologist. And while Oliver meets with Hazel as mandated, the therapy sessions don’t work out as Luc likely intended because the attraction and chemistry between the two is palpable and undeniable in a way that inevitably distracts them from their purpose. A series of adorable non-dates lead to some very real, very romantic, dates. It is ridiculously hard to put Boldly down for any reason, so make sure when you start reading that you’re prepared to be absorbed into the story for the foreseeable future, if not a reading session that takes you from cover to cover before you re-emerge! Highly recommend for fans of Elise—especially Gold Hockey series fans, since some of the characters overlap a bit—newbies who love their reads to be equally parts heat-wrenching and heartwarming, and sports romance fans who love Helena Hunting’s Pucked, Natasha Madison’s Something So/This Is serieses, or Cambria Hebert’s #Hashtag series.
Elise faber just gets better and better. She has outdone herself with Oliver and hazels story. She has all the emotions right in place almost as if she has been there. Each book I read by her grabs me at page one and I am hooked. Wonderful characters and a real rollercoaster ride. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
