Stranded with three violent prisoners in the deadly Alaskan wilderness, Cutter will become the hunter and the hunted… After an early spring thaw on the Alaskan coast, Anchorage police discover a gruesome new piece of evidence in their search for a serial killer: a dismembered human foot. In Kincaid Park, a man is arrested for attacking a female jogger. Investigators believe they have finally have their suspect. But one deputy is sure they have the wrong man. In the remote northern town of Deadhorse, Alaska, Supervisory Deputy US Marshal Arliss Cutter escorts four very dangerous handcuffed prisoners onto a small bush plane en route to Fairbanks. The prisoners murder the pilot and a guard and torch the plane. But their nightmare’s just beginning. Back in Anchorage, deputy Lola Teariki has traced the dismembered foot to a missing girl—and the serial psychopath who slaughtered her. It’s one of the prisoners on Cutter’s flight… Now it’s a deadly game of survival. Cameron viscerally conveys Alaska’s austere beauty as well as its unexpected dangers.” – Publishers Weekly
Obsessed with Armies Cutter and Lola. Such a riveting story. Couldn’t put it down. Am hoping there is a sequel to this book.
Could not put this episode of Cutters story down. Suspense and continual change in Relationships involving all characters lead you into a mystery you can’t leave unsolved. Love the Alaska setting of these amazing adventures.
This story had lots of twists. Didn’t expect the turn of events. Surprised with the interagency cooperation. Very good s t Roy.
You should read the series in order to get a feel for Cutter. The grumpy stew is tasty and the novels are as well Enjoy the read.
I’ve read all of the books in this series. This one did not do it for me. It is a very slow read. The meat of the book takes place in one small room in the wilderness that goes on and on and on.
Marc Cameron is a master at the fast-paced thriller, and he knocks this one out of the park. The Arliss Cutter series is another masterpiece, filled with unforgettable supporting characters and villains that will not allow you to put the book down. I learned a great deal about the Alaskan bush and am always impressed with the author’s breadth of knowledge. I was only disappointed that the book ended!I received this book from a Goodreads Giveaway, and it was like a winning lottery ticket… Cameron’s work is always appreciated!
