This is the 8th book in the series and I loved everything about it. This time Eleanor and her staff travel to Scotland to help out friends at Christmas. This book hit all the right notes with me. The setting was divine, the mystery was interesting and as always the characters didn’t disappoint. There’s also mention of Eleanor’s parents and that was very welcome. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher.
I like all the series, so far. Several times I have finished the story in one day. I am 94 years old and many of the fads and phrases take me back to my childhood. Love ’em!
This book kept my interests peaked the entire read, as usual. Eleanor with Clifford by her side investigating and getting into trouble. Hugh joins them on their investigation. II love that it takes place in Scotland too.
I loved this book! The sense of family, even when it’s not blood and bone, is very important to me. The plot is easily followed and the story is a good one! I definitely recommend this book!
I have read all of the Verity Bright – Lady Swift mysteries! I enjoy the time period, characters, and storylines. I really like the characters in these books, there is enough detail so that you know the surroundings and how it is important in the story. I have read some other authors that put too much detail in – to the point you don’t care – not so with these stories. I liked the Christmas theme of the story – couldn’t put it down – I enjoyed the journey.
Once more I was carried away by the tale. Could not put it down and was once again surprised by the “who done it”.
