I thought the book would be different. Instead, it was snippets of various nurses in different settings. Some stories joyous and many very heartbreaking. Makes me proud to be a nurse.
This book is a good read for any adult.Bringing you personal insights from nursesperspectives. As a former nurse on a medicalunit I thought I could never do, emotionally, what these nurses had to do, but when thetime came you jumped in to help the patientand didn’t think about yourself.
Hearing from nurses about the lives they have impacted is truly the best way to support the profession. I have been a nurse for 45+ years and have many similar experiences. I have not been in combat situations, but there are other life changing events that I have experienced that can change your views about the value of every life and make you thankful to be able to support a patient or family through their transitions.Nursing is one of a very few professions that allows for the diversity of work environments and the multitude of ways to make a difference.
Wonderful stories from nurses about nurseswhat they go through, how much of themselves they put on the line forus, their patients.
