2nd book in series, dual POV, Greek Mythology, plus sized, enemies to lovers, supposed to kill you but let’s get married, HEA Psyche & Eros 3.5/5⭐️ 3/5 Psyche and Eros are both children of the Thirteen. She’s a plus sized social media icon and he’s essentially his mother’s personal weapon. After a photo of them looking intimate is splashed all over the news, Aphrodite makes it her mission to destroy Psyche using Eros as a trap. She wants him to seduce and kill Psyche. Instead, he decides to save her and the couple quickly marries, pissing off his mother and unleashing her wrath. Can we all just appreciate how much Eros does to save Psyche from his horrible mother!?! I loved the way we’re introduced to them together but hated that it basically set all the horrible things that happen into motion. Aphrodite is probably one of my least favorite characters in a long time. She’s the absolute worst “mother” to Eros and asks too much of him. I was glad how things ended though and that Psyche was the one to clean things up. She’s such a strong female!
I love everything I have read by Katee. I love how Eros would burn the whole world for Psyche. Forbidden, fake marriage… they both tried so hard not to fall for each other… but fell so hard instead.
it’s no secret that i love katee robert as an author and as a person. but electric idol!?! katee did what needed to be done. i am absolutely in love with eros as a character as well as eros and psyche together. the chemistry is electric!
>Book Review – Electric Idol >I am an independent reviewer. This is the 2nd book in the Dark Olympus series and ends in an HEA. This book is about the assassin, Eros, and the social influencer, Psyche. Psyche helps out Eros for no reason and immediately has a target placed on her by Aphrodite, Eros’ evil mother. The mother/son dynamic pulls the story in to a realm of child abuse and low – no self-esteem for the seemingly uber confident, Eros. Eros is charged with killing Psyche, but marries her instead. >I love how Psyche and Eros bring out the best in each other and that their relationship is about more than just the physical. I like the way the author tells this modern day retelling of the Greek gods in a modern city. The book jarred in some spots as out of the blue the author would describe each person using their race. Each character is also bisexual. I get being inclusive, but every character being bisexual doesn’t seem to fit the realism the author was going for. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. The characters are all interesting. The sisters and their relationship with each other was so real, it even moved Eros and Hades.
Electric Idol is a steamy, provocative retelling that takes you on a journey into the life of Psyche Dimitriou, a candidate to become the new Hera who, after causing a scandal and falling under the wrath of Aphrodite, finds herself needing the protection of a fake marriage to the one man, Aphrodite’s fixer and son, Eros who has literally been sent to take her heart. The writing is fluid and enticing. The characters are consumed, sassy, and endearing. And the plot is a delightfully salacious tale of desire, temptation, mystique, attraction, chemistry, danger, and sizzling romance. Overall, Electric Idol is an alluring, fun, spicy tale that I absolutely adored. It is the second title in the Dark Olympus series by Robert that I am now totally hooked on and is, in my opinion, a series that just keeps getting better and better.
