Jinxing the Warlord By Gail Koger
Book/Novel Author: Gail Koger
Book/Novel Title: Jinxing the Warlord
My name is Jinx Tuva. To say my early childhood was rough is putting it mildly. I grew up on the isolated mining world of Cygnus. The population was a whopping three thousand. Loneliness was my constant companion. I dreamed of having friends, meeting new species and traveling the galaxy.Turns out Fate is one twisted bitch. She granted me my wish. It’s hard to feel lonely while caring for the three feisty, alien children I had rescued. To make things even more fun, a bad-tempered Coletti War Commander has decided I’m his. As if. Okay, he does have a great ass and his kisses are pretty awesome, but bossy doesn’t even begin to describe him.Mallox, the most hunted villain in the galaxy, is doing his level best to take the children from me. My psychic powers are unique, but are they enough to keep the kids safe? Maybe. The only way to guarantee their safety is to mate with Caleb Jones, the sexy War Commander.
I enjoyed reading this book! Another fine story! Can’t wait for the next one!One typo worth mentioning: at one point Jinx is called Jia, not only the wrong name but also that character was in “Stealing Jia” she had her own book. Let’s keep names straight, kay
I love the story about Jinx. I thought the other stories were funny, but this one was even more than the other ones. Gail has a way of telling stories that make you want to laugh and keep reading. Every time I read one of the books in this series I end up buying another one, just to keep up with all the different species and extended family. Keep up the good work Gail!
It’s hard to believe this is book 15 and the storyline never gets old. I’m not sure what a Jai warrior is, but Jinx was raised to be a warrior. Her psychic abilities combined with her survival skills and animal manipulation, make her prime mate material.Warlord Zarek is more approachable in this story. He actually sat down for a meal and ate chocolate cake! He’s still bossy, but it’s toned down. At least he gives credit where credit is due. His pushing Caleb to ‘get her done’ on a set time and while his alerts to hurry up were funny, I felt for virginal Jinx. This is another mating done on the fly, the motive covered by other concerns, and the steps not recognized as the beginning of a mating. At least by Jinx. She was clueless and Caleb wasn’t honest.Oddly enough, once Caleb and Jinx mate, they have little down time. It’s all about life on the run, survival, fighting odds, and dealing with new situations. A lot of old faces pop in, leadership of other races. What made the story was the assorted ‘kids’ that were alternately helpful or terrors when they weren’t hungry. So adorable.Thoughts: Did Jinx reunite with her father? She asked about him and that was about it. I also wondered if Warlord Zarek was short of psychic warriors, because he’s converted so many in the Jones family. These men are part of Zarek’s inner circle. Prized. You’d think there’s be more competition amongst the ranks for these positions and mates, but we don’t hear about that. Or what happened to all the previous mates, because they aren’t in Zarek’s inner circle anymore. By the way, I’d love to have a story on all these mates’ offspring. A friend loaned me her copy. – Dan’s Wife
Never read any of these books but the synopsis of this one sounded great so I tried it. The story would be awesome if… It didn’t rush by like a tweaking anime montage. Seriously, timing is a thing. Instead of reading like a book it’s more like reading a play by play of a book.
Fast paced with great, funny characters. Loved everyone of them. My first book by this author and I want more.
