This series continues to be a fun, adorable ride. I generally don’t care at all for the “competition” trope in romantic fantasy, so I almost skipped this one upon reading the blurb. I also almost stopped early in the book once the main character was a thief, I figured this would mean that she wouldn’t have any empathy toward others. Luckily, I continued reading despite both these things and actually ended up enjoying this. The main character isn’t a jerk like I first thought she would be. Her character development throughout the novel is well done. I enjoyed slowly learning about the romantic interest’s life and personality, he ended up being a really well done character. This one actually had some nice twists and turns that took me a bit by surprise, as well, which is always nice. This continues to be a really cute, fun series. Can’t wait for the next one!
I didn’t really feel like it followed the little mermaid story like you traditionally hear it. Maddie is a Selkie who has spent the last year on land as a pickpocket. When she rescues a man from a she When she rescues a man from a shipwreck, the switched mother she never knew comes to reclaim her. The man had been faded to die and she must now kill him in exchange for Her magic being Her magic being removed. She sees this as an opportunity for true freedom. Only doesn’t count on falling in love with the man. I enjoyed this one but not as much as I has hoped. It was his but not great.
I loved learning what became of the main character after the last book. Funny, heart warming. Spoiler alert: Though I think honestly the steamy r rated scene at the end could have faded to black and it wouldn’t have hurt the storyline.
Another AWESOME retelling!! This time The Little Mermaid!! It was so great!! Each time I read one of the retellings in this series, I think this one’s my favorite! But honestly they’re all so good that it is hard to pick a favorite. And when i finish I feel sad that I’ll miss being with the characters!! I loved so many of the characters in this book! It had many lol moments and also heart wrenching ones. But by the end of the book you just get that *sigh* “that was so good, I wish it didn’t have to end” feeling. I can’t wait for her next one!!!
Seriously I never want this series to stop. They are so good, I keep re-reading because I just don’t want to leave the world of Farywae. This retelling does not disappoint and i love the way it ended. Super excited for more!
I loved the romance. Maisie and Dorian had passionate chemistry and the storyline was intriguing. Dorian seemed sexy and was totally swoonworthy. I really enjoyed this book.
