“He looked exactly the way I liked him to… dangerous and mine.”Benjamin Thomas, a billionaire philanthropist and a rumored mob-boss, was everything you expected him to be—dangerous, ruthless, and handsome. When he found me in the dead of the night, sick and asleep inside his locker room, I expected him to shoot me…. or at the very least, arrest me.He did neither.Tucked within the pocket of his arms, he carried me home. In a blink, I had a warm bed, a new doctor, and a man who refused to leave my side. The look in his eyes reminded me of a storm. I didn’t know it yet but… it was brewing just for me.Benjamin Thomas wasn’t a man capable of loving anything but himself… until he met me. Mad Love is a quick, fast paced MM romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. This story features a morally ambiguous Daddy and the boy he’s dangerously obsessed with. Expect to find steamy scenes, needless violence, and soul-bending love.
I absolutely loved the story. The OTP possessive and mean to everyone but their person trope is one of my all time favorites. My issue with this book that had me teetering between 3 and 4 stars instead of 5, was the lack of editing. I got tired of the word careened/careening being used during a nice intimate moment where the word lean/leaning should have been used and it took me out of the moment. Same with the phrase ‘our eyes kissed’, it was used repeatedly when ‘our eyes locked’ would have been more appropriate. There are more examples but I’ll stop there. Each time, those things took me out of the story because that word just didn’t fit the moment and it frustrated me. Maybe don’t use the thesaurus so much? Also, incorrect words being used all together, ie, hollowing was used when howling should have been. I know there were more but that’s the one that sticks out in my mind.
The story was good, entertaining. Some plot holes that weren’t well developed but didn’t overly detract. Could use a stronger editor. There were quite a few instances of wrong word, wrong tense, blurry sentences that needed a re-read to make sense. The characters are very tropey, but it was a good fun read. Some angst. Lower steam, sex happens but we don’t get lots of detail.
I knew with the title was . But, I was taken aback by the heavy daddy boy relationship. It was a little bit of a turn off. I said the book side for a few days. Then, I returned to it. And I’m so glad I did. No many years ago, it brought me back to my youth and my early 20s. It would’ve been so nice to have a relationship like Ben and Toby. In addition to romance, and some good sex, there was an exciting story line. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in this genre.
If you like mafia romance … or Daddy romance.. this book is for you. So good. It’s funny how tears are such a turn on reading this.
I love obsession themes if done right and this took the cake. Ben was a mess not being able to share his feelings in the beginning and I’m glad Toby challenged him to not be mean…to him at least. I love insta-love books, but I loved how they eased into it.
This was… one of the best books I’ve read in awhile… Toby was honest, kind, loving and deserved the love that Benji gave him.. It was raw, passion, desire, heart pounding… If you love a good Possessive sexy ass man, this book is for you!!!
