My Secret Valentine Baby By Ella Goode
Book/Novel Author: Ella Goode
Book/Novel Title: My Secret Valentine Baby
After attending her best friend’s wedding at the Valentine Hotel in Vegas, Mila threw caution to the wind—along with her virginity —to a hot stranger at the bar. It was the best thing that had happened to Mila in a long time. What woman doesn’t need a little crazy fun once in a lifetime? But when the pregnancy test comes back positive, Mila panics. With no money and no way to contact the father of the child, she feels like she committed the worst sin in Sin City.Cupid’s arrow pierced Archer’s cold heart when he laid eyes on Mila in his hotel bar. The plan was to seduce her into becoming Mrs. Archer Valentine, but she disappeared before he could say the magic words. All his money and resources haven’t been able to locate her. Sin City has a way of keeping secrets, but Archer will tear the whole city down to find his Mila. And when he does, Cupid might have to avert his eyes from all the steam.
And even that was difficult. The author made sure we knew that she can name what’s probably her favorite perfumes and shoes, but couldn’t even provide adequate character descriptions. I have no idea what these people are supposed to look like. The momentum is off, the chemistry isn’t there. The h is making all these broad statements about what she will and won’t accept, and it’s like, she slept with him 2 sentences after she met him, got knocked up and now is acting like she can’t be bothered. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just there’s nothing in the middle. No tension, emotion, intent. It’s just boring and simplistic. No character development, no sparks, no steam. And when the h is protesting having dinner with the H, he gets her from her apartment to the restaurant and it’s not explained. Just her asking “how did I get here, oh I guess I can eat” No! How did you get there?? Just. Wouldn’t recommend this story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this couple. Mila and Asher have great chemistry, and their spice was extra spicy. I don’t normally complain about novellas being too short, but this one was. It would be 5 stars, but the ending was very sudden and a few loose ends felt like they weren’t tied up as well as they could’ve been.
This was the cutest and best short story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. OTT alpha and all. I love getting both points of view because if you only get the males actions and not the thought process behind it, well they can come off as major Ds. Having their thoughts back up their actions just pulls you in even more. You’ll want to read this one.
The nice good short story.. well written and no cliffhanger and to the point very well done writer I want more short stories like this
Love how this author writes her H’s. In this one he’s a little condescending but means we’ll. Really, he’s clueless on how a relationship works since he’s never been in one and has never even thought about a woman before. After their ONS, she runs and when they meet up again 4 months later, he’s afraid he’ll lose her again so he rushes her to get married. This was a fun, quick read. Each other’s one and only, no abuse, no OM/OW drama, epilogue 5 years out.
A valentines romance that’s sweeter than chocolate. The chemistry is so fireworks hot it will melt your panties. You’ll love it
