Such a great book! I’m so sad it’s over! Such an unexpected turn towards the end. I just loved Alex and Dylan. Such a loving, respected couple. Every character was fabulous. Now I c.f. as by wait to read about Chase and Julia.
Dylan Stone became a part of the Stone family as a young boy, loved and raised by a family that became his by choice. Alex became his best friend and they crates a bond that no one else could ever break. At a pivotal time in Dylan’s life, and career, he realizes what he needs to have the future he wants and needs. As Dylan and Alex travel a path they never expected they discover a fulfillment they only dreamed about!
Only One ForeverDylan and AlexI love this large, loving, over the top extended family. I’ve read all of the books, Something So, This is, and now the Only One series. When I first read that Dylan was going to be paired up with Alex, I was hesitant. I loved both characters, but, at the end of the day, they are legally cousins. (Dylan was adopted by Justin. Alex’s mom is Justin’s sister). No blood relation, but still cousins. Really not my thing. If you can overlook that, and just see a best friends to lovers story, like I did, it was a good story, a few bumps, a little boy that will just break your heart, and the crazy antics that follow this family wherever they go.The hockey season is over for Dylan, and he’s unsure of where his future is heading. He wants to remain loyal to the team that drafted him, but they are unwilling to put together a winning team. As he heads to Dallas to meet up with his best friend Alex and his family he’s sure he will not be returning to his team.Alex has moved to Dallas to work with her cousins husbands youth hockey camp. Away from New York and her family for the first time, it’s time to grow up and move forward. Finally put her feelings for Dylan in her rear view mirror. These two have grown up together. Been best friends since Dylan came into the family. They have a very unusual friendship. They speak every day, they talk about everything, nothing is off limits. They seek each other out when they need comfort or a shoulder to cry on.When they finally admit their feelings for each other, there is relief, then panic when they have to tell their families. It’s either going to be the best thing, or it’s going to tear the family apart.Dylan gets a chance later in the book, to do what Justin did for him and his mom. He gets to play the hero to a young homeless boy, who has a talent for the game of hockey. It brings up some horrible memories for him, but makes him more determined than ever to help. The downside to this family is it’s huge. So many characters it was hard to keep them all straight and if you haven’t read the other books, you might be overwhelmed.Overall it was a good story. It has its heartbreaking moments, moments of hilarity with the family, and in the end, a very happy ever after.Dual points of view, no cheating.
This was a sweet love story. I like how supportive the characters are of each other. The flash backs were bittersweet. However I look forward to more of these books!
Alex and Dylan are great, best friends turned lovers with a little taboo thrown in on the side. Great read and addition to the only one series. I couldn’t out this down, from the beginning I needed to know how this would play out with these two and I loved it
I enjoyed this book. I really liked the beginning where you get to see how well Dylan & Alex know each other after years of being best friends. They are there for each other at all times and it’s very sweet. They’re relationship is strong and you can feel the love they have for each other. I just wish there was more of their relationship. The 1/3 of the book had to do with a kid they know I’m the hockey summer training. This book had the warm heartfelt feelings with low angst. I recommend.
