Rattle Some Cages By Lani Lynn Vale
Book/Novel Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Book/Novel Title: Rattle Some Cages
It’s not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body.Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane. She’d been sitting next to her dead best friend, who’d passed away on the beach, with no way to get her back home, thanks to the world’s worst luck, and one hell of a storm. So Price does what any decent person would do: he carries Sabrina’s dead best friend to their beach house and doesn’t leave her side until he’s forced to.He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking up on her and making sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans.Despite one hell of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make.Choose Sabrina, or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.
I really liked this book. Loved these two together. He was just great to her and vise versa. Throw in some drama and again a good book.My only comment was he affiliated problem with noise. For instance the sex alone is sometimes noisy, add in screaming and he didn’t even flinch. Same with any torture if he had to do. Also when his kids came and nothing was mentioned on any of his reactions from the author. My thought was did Ms. Vale even put that in. But we don’t get anything except that time with those kids at the restaurant or when his brother is eating, which was funny.
Ok you HAVE to finish this book. The hero is amazing in my opinion! I did NOT like the part about the hero’s sister though. I feel like that shouldn’t have been added to the book. The whole section of the book that the hero stayed away from the heroine for his sister, just made you hate the sister! Even with that part though it showed how amazing the hero really was. After he decides to go for it despite the sister, the book is AMAZING.
Rattle was an unexpected read. The synopsis hinted at tragedy early on so I was prepared for that. Everything after added layers and dimensions to the story and characters. Price and Sabrina grew into their feelings for each other while facing life first separately and then together (there’s some chapters where Price stupidly thought he could live without her then realized he couldn’t). They overcame hurdles while together. They dealt with unwanted jealousy to clarify their positions for and to one another. Unexpectedly charming and unassumingly sweet, Rattle was a great re-introduction to Ms. Vale’s work. I look forward to getting lost in more of what she plans to publish.
This series just keeps getting better and better. No 2 couples have been the same. And the way that each of meet are never the same either. I just love that. I have noticed that the subject matter of this series has been a little darker than past series, and I’m here for it. The Crow men are just that, they all live in the dark.
Price Crow has alway been a loner, there are things that he can’t stand and things he won’t put up with, but when he gets to see the most beautiful woman he has ever seen he can’t think of anything else but her and seeing her.Sabrina has finally seen the red flags for what they were, once blinded she now has her eyes wide open, with the fate of her only best friend fighting for her life, Sabrina makes the decision to give her the best last part of her life, even if it ends soon than either of them realize. Stranded during a hurricane with her best friend, her fate will soon be sealed by the most infuriating man she has ever met, her dark knight to the rescue. But can Sabrina overcome being the meek little woman people think she is, or can she withstand the storm that is fixing to bowl over her life.“The World would never Accommodate me. Even if there were people that were supposed to.” SabrinaIs it possible that Sabrina and Price were meant to be but their paths crossed and they never really knew what was at stake for them, or was this just a fleeting chance to find someone to help them through the pain of everyday life?I have read a few of Lani’s books and this one captured me pretty quickly. Everything flowed perfectly into one seamless story that takes you on a journey of loss, love and heartbreaking decisions that have confounded meaning behind them. Although this is labeled a MC book, it doesn’t really deal with MC life, it just touches on it briefly. I wish there was more to the Battle Crows MC life in and of itself. But overall I did enjoy this book.
