Handsome, successful husband. Adorable daughter. Chairwoman of the PTA. Security for her ailing mom. Jane’s got everything life has to offer. Including the lie that could destroy it all.

See Jane smile. Thirty-nine-year-old Jane Osborne appears to the world like she has a charmed life. Her daughter attends private school. Jane chairs the PTA. Even her marriage to Dan, the handsome, prominent surgeon, is blissfully happy. Her universe is stable, and her future is fixed…just like that smile. Because it’s all a ruse. Unbeknownst to anyone, after eighteen years of marriage, Dan’s revealed that he’s been living a double life and is in love with a man. But for the sake of his career, Jane must keep that secret, secret.

See Jane lie. With their livelihood on the line, Jane agrees to maintain appearances. But soon the weight of Dan’s deception and the pain of his betrayal get the better of her. Something’s got to give.

See Jane snap. Quite publicly. And a bit unlawfully. With brutal honesty, Jane must confront her choices head-on and determine—for herself—if the facade of stability she’s been protecting is worth the price of her own sanity and happiness.

This book started out great. I found her arrest incident hilarious. However, the story took a turn towards predictable in a sappy way. I was disappointed since it started out with such potential.
This was a great read for our book club! There are quite a few storylines taking place and the drama definitely builds throughout the book. It was a quick read and well received by our 12 book club members.
I realize there are plenty of women who still choose to be stay-at-home wives and mothers but 99 % of the female characters in this book didn’t have nor had ever had any kind of career apart from being married and that eventually became fairly distracting. Not to mention the lead’s slavish devotion to being an absolute Stepford Wife made me not entirely care for her. Despite all this I was still very involved in the action and eager to follow it all through.
This book was not memorable in any way.Enjoyable but forgettable.Good if you want to “kick back” and relax.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last.It is a wonderful story, very well written.
This was a quick read.Light-hearted romance. The only thing that I thought was soooo redundant was all the times the heroine blushed. She turned red.She was pink and then turned red.She was flushed. She felt herself turning red.I don’t think I’ve done that many in my lifetime…and I’m old.
