Too bad our libidos have other plans. But after a night of epic, soul-shattering banging, I’ll have to wrestle the sex genie back into the bottle the next morning when I get the big news. Nolan and I just landed a once-in-a-lifetime for our scrappy online restaurant review show. We’re going to New York for a month and we’ll be together in a hotel all the time.I’ve already lost my best friend once, so I’ll do whatever it takes to resist thoroughly delicious Nolan again.Until I learn whatever it takes might cost me everything.SHUT UP AND KISS ME is an MF, dual POV, friends to lovers, sexy, emotional standalone romance!
This was so fun!!!! I loved this one night stand, fiends to lovers book! I always find again that Lauren Blakely writes the best friends to lovers romances! She writes characters that have the sexiest, and the sweetest moments ever! I always find myself swooning and aw-ing over different moments that the characters have with each other! I also like that she gives them such unique jobs! Like food critics on a YouTube like platform is so fun! I have never read characters like that before!
This was a really sweet and fun Romcom. Emerson and Nolan have been friends for a very long time. They were friends in college and stayed friends after that. They are also now cohosts on their YouTube series that’s all about food tasting and rating. They both want to really make it and maybe even get a show of their own someday but they’re not there yet. They both have so many things that they really need to work out for them and it all depends on their YouTube channel being successful. And secretly they are both insanely attracted to one another but too afraid to tell the other or even if they did, what would happen if something went wrong and they could no longer do the show. The show that they need to be successful to take them to the places they need to go.But you know what they say about Vegas, unfortunately what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.Nolan was sweet and funny and so determined to make it on his own. Emerson was funny and sassy. As much as these two wanted to stay away from each other they just can’t no matter how hard they try. It’s just too much chemistry and feelings to put aside.I loved these two together they were so good and the chemistry was there. They were great on camera too, which made their show really good. And their witty banter was adorable.I was rooting for Nolan and Emerson from the beginning! I just wanted them to do it already, they were already so flirty.I would definitely recommend this, if your looking for a romcom, with likeable characters and witty banter then this is the one for you.
It took me a while to get into this book. I read a little then stopped. Things were not falling into place. I didn’t understand why they had to stay in dives because of lack of money yet she could take Jo’s apartment and afford to live in it. I don’t believe the reasons they were lying about their loans was a reason not to get together. I probably wouldn’t recommend it for a friend to read. Didn’t flow.

My rating: 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 starsThis book features a likable couple, and they have some hot love scenes — but I got frustrated with them constantly wanting to be together, but thinking it would ruin their friendship and work relationship. They thought this even though they had sex, but then tried to go back to just friends. They did seem to have a lot in common, and seemed to have a definite connection — I just wanted them to realize that they COULD make a relationship work without losing their close friendship.I really liked that both Emerson and Nolan were responsible, decent people. They didn’t try to use others, and they both cared deeply for their families and friends. My rating system is below.1 star — Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.2 stars — Didn’t like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn’t very good, the editing was terrible, I didn’t like the characters, or it had other major flaws.3 stars — I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.4 stars — I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.5 stars — I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Another great book. I have loved each one in the series and excited for Jo’s story! Em & Nolan’s story keeps you going and you can’t help but love the grandmas!
