The “reigning romance queens” (PopSugar) and New York Times bestselling authors of The Soulmate Equation and The Unhoneymooners present a charming and laugh-out-loud funny novel filled with adventure, treasure, and, of course, love.Growing up the daughter of notorious treasure hunter and absentee father Duke Wilder left Lily without much patience for the profession…or much money in the bank. But Lily is nothing if not resourceful, and now uses Duke’s coveted hand-drawn maps to guide tourists on fake treasure hunts through the red rock canyons of Utah. It pays the bills but doesn’t leave enough to fulfill her dream of buying back the beloved ranch her father sold years ago, and definitely not enough to deal with the sight of the man she once loved walking back into her life with a motley crew of friends ready to hit the trails. Frankly, Lily would like to take him out into the wilderness—and leave him there. Leo Grady knew mirages were a thing in the desert, but they’d barely left civilization when the silhouette of his greatest regret comes into focus in the flickering light of the campfire. Ready to leave the past behind him, Leo wants nothing more than to reconnect with his first and only love. Unfortunately, Lily Wilder is all business, drawing a clear line in the sand: it’s never going to happen. But when the trip goes horribly and hilariously wrong, the group wonders if maybe the legend of the hidden treasure wasn’t a gimmick after all. There’s a chance to right the wrongs—of Duke’s past and their own—but only if Leo and Lily can confront their history and work together. Alone under the stars in the isolated and dangerous mazes of the Canyonlands, Leo and Lily must decide whether they’ll risk their lives and hearts on the adventure of a lifetime. From the author of the “heartfelt and funny” (Publishers Weekly) sensation The Unhoneymooners, this page-turning adventure full of second chances, complicated relationships, and the breathtaking beauty of the American Southwest will take fans on one wild ride.
I wasn’t expecting this type of book from Christina Lauren, but holy cow they nailed it!Something Wilder follows Lily as she is taking a group of men on an adventure through the canyons and desert! She owns Wilder Adventures and take groups of people on their own treasure hunt on horseback. On day three, things go sideways, and hold on because it’s a wild ride!!
Anytime Christina Lauren releases a book, I make sure to read it. Their books have become a must read for them.I wasn’t sure what this book was about but the adventure it took me on was enjoyable. I love the whole mystery of finding treasure and the surprises that happened throughout the book. It definitely made it an interesting read.I love the second chance romance between Lily and Leo. The chance to reunite after 10 years and on an adventure too. It was a story filled with romance and adventure. I enjoyed every bit of it.Overall, I enjoyed this refreshing story about adventure and rekindled love. It was filled with mystery and surprises that made it a delightful read.
[Library loan on Kindle]“He’d loved Lily so deeply it had changed his biology”If there’s such a thing as a fun “popcorn book” like a popcorn movie, then this is it. A wild romantic adventure meets even wilder love in a second chance romance between the outdoorsy daughter of a treasure hunter and a city slicker who comes back into her life in the adventure of a lifetime. Who knew that CL had such an adrenaline-rush of fun up their sleeves? #LOVESICK CITY BOY# indeed.Tomboy rancher Lily Wilder’s summer of first love and future dreams together were shattered when she and nerdy city boy Leo Grady were torn apart by life circumstances. A decade later, Lily’s life has turned upside down. Her family’s Wilder Ranch is gone and she scrapes by as a guide for tourist expeditions and fake treasure hunts in the wild. That’s where she runs into Leo again, when he and his buddies sign up to experience the whole package. As Lily’s “comic relief” gal pal/business partner calls them: “a loud one, a sweet potato, a creep, and a quiet one (psst, that one’s Leo).” These boys are not peas in a pod and Lily has her hands full. It’s also awkward for the reunited couple to say the least … but nothing is as it seems about their past breakup or the boys’ vacay in the wild. Can two people leading half-lives without each other finally become a whole again? Wild turns wilder and then it turns into the craziest adventure of all with Lily and Grady teaming up and rediscovering each other in a game of survival, danger, and lost treasure. This book is so outside CL’s wheelhouse and I loved every minute of it. Lily’s famous/infamous dead dad and his love of indecipherable codes play a background role crucial to the story. It was fun, funny, exciting, unexpected, romantic and thrilling. Lily and Grady may be from two separate worlds, but they make a great team as soul mate lovers. The twists were predictable, but it didn’t matter. This couple actually communicated their feelings. What a novelty. Quiet, shy and thoughtful Grady was scrumptious, but Lily was a bit prickly for my taste. Their wild ride still left me satisfied and hanging by a thread every time the action took a different turn. Just sit back and go with it for the joy sheer joy of a vicarious thrill to the end and the sweetest HEA.

Cute! Cute! Cute! I am a big fan of Christina and Lauren but their last book wasn’t my favorite. Hold the front door because this is a good one! Lili Wilder has taken over her father’s ranch while Duke Wilder is off on another treasure hunt. Leo was supposed to stay by Lili’s side forever…..Fast forward ten years, Lili is barely holding it together while her and her best friend take groups of tourists on week long expeditions through Utah when Leo shows up with his friends for an excursion. Not knowing the nature of this guy’s trip, he is just as stunned to see Lili as she is to see him. This book is full of love, laughter and treasurer hunting. It will not disappoint! #SomethingWilder #ChristinaLauren
Something Wilder was a little departure from the usual Christina Lauren romance, because there was adventure and more than a little danger involved, and I enjoyed every minute! Several characters to hate: Todd and Lily’s dad, although I did have mixed feelings about the dad by the end, and a few to love like Lily’s bestie Nicole. She was tough and loyal, the kind of friend that would help you bury the body if you needed it! I love that CL usually incorporates a strong female friendship (kind of like their own, I guess) in each story they write. The romance between Leo and Lily was of the second chance variety, one of my favorite tropes. The hurt and longing between them were palpable, which made their romance all the more sweet when they cleared things up and boy did they steam up the pages! Definite recommend!
