Southern Sunshine By Natasha Madison
Book/Novel Author: Natasha Madison
Book/Novel Title: Southern Sunshine
I never wanted to be a cowboy, living in a small town was suffocating.
The military was my out.I saw every place I ever wanted and everything that nightmares are made of.
Until I almost lost my life and then I ended up back home.
Finding out that I was pregnant the night before I left for college changed everything.
I left that small town and vowed to never return.
When my grandfather died, I had no choice but to go back home.
The plan was just for two weeks.
I thought it would be quick and easy until he was standing at the back door asking questions.
Secrets never stay secrets for long in this town.
Reed Barnes has always wanted to escape the confines of his small town and eagerly joins the army as his way out. Yet the night before he leaves he sleeps with his best friend, Hazel Bennett, knowing he may never see her again. Now Reed faces the most difficult thing to come back to town after he is injured overseas.Hazel Bennett left town shortly after Reed with a secret only her grandpa was aware of. With the passing of her grandpa she is forced back to town 6 years later with her daughter, Sofia, and is shocked to see the state of her grandpa’s place and learn about his finances.Hazel is shocked when Reed and his dad show up at her property to take a look and soon Hazel realizes that her secret may not stay secret for long. This is another awesome book in this series and I really hope these books never end!I felt like Reed was a little selfish as he wanted to escape from his family so much as he felt like he really didn’t have a “role” in the family. He compared himself to everyone around him and therefore never let himself see his own worth within his family. I was curious to see how he would adapt to being back and find what he was truly passionate about.Hazel was awesome and my heart broke for her knowing she was somewhat alone other than her grandpa and Sofia for so long. She felt like she didn’t really belong with Reed’s family and didn’t want their pity and handouts after her grandpa’s death. She was a great mom to Sofia and she worked her butt off to provide for her.You knew that her secret wouldn’t stay that way for long and I was happy as I knew that was best for Sofia and for Hazel too. I was glad when Reed put everything together and apologized for his past mistakes which cost everyone so much time. I was also really happy when Reed finally opened up to his dad about why he left and I really felt like it was showing that Reed had finally hit that maturity that I had been waiting for.I loved the proposition that Savannah gave Hazel and I knew that besides Reed that was one thing that could keep Hazel in town if she and Reed didn’t work out. I was happy that things were finally going really well for Hazel as she and Sofia deserved it.I was so happy when things went the way I wanted them too and I loved the epilogues! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
The final book of the southern series.Definitely not what I was excepting for the end of a series, but definitely loved the book.
This book was everything. This is literally my new fav of the Southern series. Soo amazing. Completely recommend. Don’t walk run to read this one.
I absolutely loved this latest story in the Southern Series!!!! Reed and Hazel share one night of pleasure together thinking that they will never need to see each other again. Their one night results in an absolutely adorable baby girl. Reed for the longest time didn’t realize that Hazel had his child until he comes back in town and sees Hazel with her. Their story to their hea is a slow delicious burn that had me hooked from beginning to end. I loved every minute of their story and I highly recommend it to all. I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series…well done!!!
Hazel and Reed were a tough read for me.I wasn’t sure how I was going to be able to like them for slighting each other over the years…for not trying hard enough, for closing the door on something special. But by the end of the story I was rooting for them to win.And you’re never quite sure that’s going to fully happen in a Natasha book…lol. This story was an emotional roller coaster and at the end you’re all Thanks for the ride, lady!
I had read the other Southern Series books and I loved them so I had to read the newest book and I am excited to read the next book.I would definitely recommend this author to anybody who asks.
