Summary

Briar Rose might have a name out of a storybook, but she learned at a very young age that no prince was coming to save her. She’ll have to save herself. Unfortunately, even that is an impossible task in her current situation—trapped in a terrifying marriage to a dangerous man.Desperate times call for desperate measures, which is how she finds herself making a deal with a demon. Freedom from her husband…in return for seven years of service. She expects the service to be backbreaking and harsh. She doesn’t expect to be put on an auction block in a room full of literal monsters and sold to the highest bidder. To Sol.A dragon. He might seem kinder than his fearsome looks imply, but she knows better than to trust the way he wants to take care of her, or how invested he is in her pleasure. In her experience, if something seems too good to be true, it certainly is.Falling for Sol is out of the question. She’s suffered enough, and she has no intention of staying in this realm…even if she leaves her heart behind when she returns to her normal life.Author’s Note: Please check the author’s website for all tropes, tags, and CWs.
I had a lot of fun reading this. It’s definitely not as in depth as it could be – I could have done with more of the world building and character relationship build up for example – but it was quick and fun. If you’re looking for something easy to read, spicy, or even something just out of your normal type of reads, I recommend this.
Nice world building. Engaging plot and characters. Super hot sex. Highly recommend. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Grabbed this book on a whim and devoured it in about a day and a half. The characters are engaging, the world is well built and intriguing. This first story is clearly only a snippet and a much larger narrative, and yes: I’ve totally preordered the next book.If you’re looking for a different kind of kinky fluff, this is it!
It is a fact that the cover of Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert is great. As for the content inside? This is a sweet and easy-to-follow read despite some dark content it has. My only wish is that story development went deeper.I felt the author gave herself a lot of potential room to explore more of the story and the world she set it in but she didn’t take herself up on her own invitation. I would have liked more of a journey for the FMC as she grew distance from her trauma. She experienced stuff at the end of the book to develop such confidence! ( Avoiding spoilers here so I am being vague) So what happened?!? I wanted to meet the MMC’s ex. She isn’t immediately around but appeared still relevant enough in his life that I think we could have gotten him to show his relationship with her and the FMC are different. It felt less powerful to just have him tell me.Other reviewers seem disappointed by the tease of DP. I understand but not simply because because, well, there’s two darn  Not only was double peen introduced, there was desire on the part of the MMC and potential interest from the FMC. Rather than a Chekhov’s gun, it was like a Chekhov’s double peen. When one character has two penises and the interest have been suggested, the plot should be obligated to work towards double penetration.Monster romance doesn’t have formal rules beyond the implication that there’s a consenting non-human main character but I’d make this one of them if I could.I must give the author credit for showing thought towards what sex could be like with a giant humanoid dragon. The teeth pricks from the oral sex were a nice detail to bring out for example.Approached as the novella it is and with the timeline of just a month, there’s only so much character and plot development to fit in. So this book doesn’t disappoint and I’ve already pre-ordered the next installment. So clearly I think Robert’s deserves space in both my head and Kindle account.I find it to be comfortable, easy-to-follow read that may be nice for the monster romance newbie to explore. I hope it unlocks a fun journey into this beloved genre for them.
I mean.. there’s TWO . Need I say more?I wish there would have been some DP going on with that but.. I’m still satisfied .
What the hell Katee there better be a book 2 to this exact story. I mean why on earth would you leave me hanging like that. I understand there are more stories with the other demons/monsters but I need more Dragon’s Bride.!!!!!
