From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kylie Scott comes a new story in her Stage Dive series…It all started in Vegas…After a wild and tumultuous beginning to their relationship, Evelyn Thomas and her rock star husband David Ferris have been happily married for years. Nothing needs to change, their life together is perfect. Which means that change in the shape of an unexpected pregnancy is bound to shake things up some. But could it be for the better?**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
This is my second book to read in this series and I’m so glad that I started this! I mentioned in my previous review for Lick, that I’d put off reading it for awhile. I still don’t understand why. Getting back into the lives of these characters was so much fun! And their stories are just so consuming! Ev and David have had their ups and downs… But, in this installment, they’re dealing with the fallout of what happens when life throws you some curveballs. David doesn’t handle things so well at first–as usual, in my opinion–and it takes him awhile. I will say that I am constantly rooting for this couple and I hope to read more about them and the rest of the band!
I could read about David and Evelyn all day shell the whole Stage Dive family I loved every Minute of this incredible mini story of the loves of one of my favorite book series ever Thank you Author Kylie Scott
I’ve loved this series from the very beginning. Watching these characters grow and expand their families without losing their dynamics is great. While there’s always a new character there are always updates into what an old fave is up to.
So I loved Lick, and was super excited to find out these two were getting another book, even if just a short one. But I guess the problem with returning to a couple is you have to have some form of conflict to make it worth a new story. For this story, this came by ruining David’s character, which was done too well for me. In my opinion, what he did was at the very least worth more than the simple, quick forgiveness Ev found for him. I don’t think I would recommend starting this series with this book, which usually these 1001 books can be, and if you loved Lick, then I’d recommend staying away from this one. Mal was the highlight and I loved every scene he was in.
I’ve never read a surprise baby story quite like it. Poor Evelyn! What a way to bring a baby into the world! Admittedly, I was super disappointed in David. He let her down in a HUGE way, especially after the drama surrounding their child’s birth and everything the new mom was trying to deal with. For a while, it felt like she was struggling with two babies, instead of one. He got his stuff together eventually, but the interim was painful to witness.
I enjoyed this little glimpse into what’s currently happening with these characters. Was completely shocked by the unexpected surprise but so happy. This is a good story filled with conflicting emotions and it’s a wonderful way to catch up with members of the band.
