Believable characters. Good dialogue. Story flowed well. I enjoyed it very much. Filling the word count to leave a review.
A truly entertaining and satisfying paranormal romance. What I loved: again Wells creates fully drawn characters, both main and side. She builds worlds that fully draw you in and characters that you can vividly realize and identify with. She also depicts characters with differences which is unique and appreciated. Autism (Mia and Dina in previous books), physical disability (FMC in this book), psychopath (hey, it’s a mental difference!—in Run Posy Run), transgender identity-kind of (Kennedy in this book), homosexual identity (some of the other werewolves in the story). In essence, Wells creates worlds and characters that reflect the real world and she does so with sensitivity and compassion—all while creating truly entertaining stories and relatable characters. I loved the fight in the heroine. I loved that she didn’t pathetically take her rejection or chase the H but decided to turn her back on him and he ended up chasing her. I loved that Kellum came running back to her. I do wish he’d verbally groveled more, but his actions were certainly sufficient to show his regret for his previous behavior. It was clear who was in charge from the moment he realized she was his mate. He was a clear alpha who submitted only to her and I loved that. I really enjoyed this book.
Nice tension between wanting freedom and wanting pack: how much can you push if you’re not leaving these people? Epic struggle between female and her mate, the usual, unsung hero making ends meet and the top dog who casts his mate aside without looking deeper than the surface, much to his eventual dismay.
I absolutely loved this!! I devoured this book in a few hours… gonna regret the lack of sleep tomorrow. I have been avoiding rejected mate novels lately but decided to give this one a go and I am so glad I did! It was way better than expected. I will have to find another Cate book to read.
This book knocked me on my butt! I admittedly did not come in with any giant expectations- this is the first I’ve read of this author. WOW THOUGH The story is amazing. The tension, drama, all of it *chef’s kiss*. Will definitely be going through the rest of her arsenal now!
I really loved this book. I will almost definitely read it again another time. I am looking forward to trying more from this author. Content Warning: graphic sex, violence.
