That marriage pact I made with my grumpy, off-limits best friend. So funny!Cash moved to a city 500 miles away. Building his billion-dollar empire. Making a name for himself.Me? I stayed in our gossipy hometown. Working a simple job. Living a simple life. And we never discussed the marriage pact again. But I just turned the big three-oh.And Cash showed up at my door, in the middle of a freaking rainstorm.Tall, muscled and soaking wet. With a birthday cake in his hand and a daring smirk that says he means business.Holy plot twist! Didn’t see that coming! Now the small town rumor mill is in overdrive.Cash is dissolving my defences with those sexy half-smiles he saves just for me.And my brain is exploding with what ifs…What if we give this a shot? What if we’re crazy enough to try? What if we’re good together? We’ve always been ‘just friends’. We’re experts at playing it safe. But his skin on my skin leaves me reeling. His oh-so-fiery kisses melt my excuses.I know our decade-plus friendship is on the line. But I’m aching to see Cash’s wild side. The Wild Side is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, friends-to-lovers small town romance. It is set in small town Iowa and is book one in the Wild Westbrooks Series.
I’ve only read a few books written by Cassie-Ann L. Miller, but if all her books are as captivating as this one, I’ll definitely be reading more books by her. Her handling of the story, characters, and emotions, were outstanding. I was hooked from the first sentence, and hated to reach the end, because I didn’t want the romance between Cash and Meghan,to end.Cash is single, wealthy CFO, of his fathers Wealth Management company. He has strived to be the best, but isn’t really living a fulfilling life. When he was younger, he made a marriage pact with his best friend. He decides to drive 6 hrs, to be there for Meghan’s 30th Birthday. When he arrives there, old feelings and desires for Meghan become evident.Meghan is a hard working single young woman. She works at a Veterinary clinic full-time, but works part time at a pet adoption agency. Her life is lonely, but she fosters pets, until they are adopted. When Cash appears at her door, with a cake, and balloons, she is completely surprised. They begin a relationship that build slowly, but both are aware of their miles of difference, because of their jobs.Incidents occur one right after the other, complicating their lives, and a short breakup occurs. Both realize that they can’t live without the other, and Cash comes home to surprise Meghan, and hopefully to reunite their love. Successfully, the couple finally reach their HEA, and the story ends in a beautiful, heartfelt romance.
When she said if Allana can’t acknowledge that she still likes her exe husband I was done. How ironic is that when she spent the first 20 pages talking about her and Cash being friend. As far as Cash goes why do so many guy in romances think that its an either or situation. Like you can’t have a committed relationship and build a bigger business. After one third of the way through I got bored. Too many book out there to be reading a boring book. If she would have written they honored that gas receipt commitment. And proceeded from there instead of all this we are just friends BS it would have been a much more interesting start of this book and not quite so boring.
Meg and Cash’s story is a great one…from their marriage pact they made at the gas station when they were young until a HEA. Best friends always until things heat up…lots of ups and downs but the best ending you can imagine.
So Good! A story so Full of laughter and happy tears. Loved it! Thank you. . On to the next one.
Not bad, just a boring and somewhat cliche plot. I really don’t understand what the title has to do with the story. Neither of these characters have much of a wild side. The book spends way to much time debating a relationship, making it a tedious read with many chapters skimmed over.
