Tomas’s Trials By Dale Mayer
Book/Novel Author: Dale Mayer
Book/Novel Title: Tomas’s Trials
Tomas is excited about this new direction in his life. Working for Levi allows him to use his vast array of skills in new and varied ways. He doesn’t expect to be sent undercover in a supremacy group, loaded with weapons. Yet what he finds is much more complicated than that.Amber had joined the group to help get her friend away from the members, only to find out her friend is dead, and no one will talk about it. The group is in the middle of a coup from within, as the leader barely maintains control. It’s a dangerous place to be, but she is not leaving without answers. Needing help, she contacts an old friend. Tomas isn’t what she expects.Still, as long as he will help her do what she needs to do—before she gets into further trouble—he is fine with her. Except it doesn’t take long for both of them to realize that the danger is escalating to the point where it is possible that neither of them will leave the compound—at least not alive.
Wasn’t thrilled with this one. All previous books were great. This one had too much of what the people were always thinking. Skipped a lot and skimmed through a lot of this book. Hope the next one is better.
Levi’s and Ice are always looking for men to work for them. When Tomas is asked if he wants to work for them, he jumps at the opportunity. Tomas is surprised at the offer since he has just recovered from a bullet wound that left him with a limp. Amber joined a militia group to find out what happened to her friend who disappeared. She goes to Ice because she needs help getting out of the militia. Once someone joins the militia they are in for life. Tomas is given the task to safely get Amber out. Tomas goes in undercover, but when Amber and Tomas take a friend to the hospital, his cover is blown. Now they need to get out before they are taken out. Despite his limp Tomas still has his moves and can protect Amber and get her safely out of compound. This book had a little bit of everything under cover work, fights, and murder. The members of the militia had a cult mentality they did whatever their leader asked. I enjoyed the original plot which was not your standard ex-military story.I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Usually I love Dale Mayer books. This one not so much. I think it’s because of the subject matter. There was also very little lead up to a love connection between the two main characters.
WOW! This story was a little slow in the beginning but picked up pace as we go along. Amber is trying to find out what happened to her friend and get in trouble with the cult she stumbled upon. She is strong to a point but needs help in uncovering the truth. It definitely gets ugly when Amber learns the truth about her friend ‘s death. Tomas is sent in to help uncover the truth. It’s not who we expected but in the end it made sense. Once the cult is taken care of, Amber and Tomas get on with their happily ever after! FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.
From the first word on this story, I was already into it. Lots of surprises and ugly situations that kept me ready to get to the end. Thank you for another AWESOME STORY
Tomas goes undercover in a survivalist camp type of situation, and has to Get Amber out safely. The women in the camp have little to zero freedom, and are the mercy of the men there. The whole premise of the group has changed drastically since it started, and is now more of a prison than a safe environment. The danger, and the edge of your seat drama in this book.. Wow!Another all night no sleep read.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
